This watercolor, done in both pan watercolors and with Derwent Inktense pencils, is from a photo of a butterfly on a zinnia in my garden. I completed it yesterday; I'm not very experienced in watercolors, but have been having a nice time trying to figure them out this summer. What intrigued me here was the delicacy of the wings and their subtle colors.
